Five generations ago, the Wagner Family began to grow grapes on the East Side of Seneca Lake. In 1976 Bill Wagner, a third generation grape grower, took an old backhoe and began to dig a cellar in the middle of an old horse pasture. Since the grand opening in 1979 the Wagner/Lee family, with the help and dedication of loyal and hard working employees, has grown Wagner Vineyards Estate Winery into a world class winery right here in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
