What to expect at your Wine Tasting
Your experience at Wagner Vineyards for a wine tasting should be fun, educational, delicious, and safe. We currently offer a few different wine tasting options. For a more educational experience, we offer a guided tasting experience with a member of our staff to help you discover your new favorite wine and learn more about the process of grapevine-to-wine at Wagner Vineyards. If you are looking for a more casual tasting experience without the structure of a guide or schedule, our wine (or beer) flights are available for walk-ins only.
Reservations are strongly suggested for guided tastings, regardless of the number of tasters, especially during busier times. Visit our Online Reservation page to schedule your visit. Keep in mind that tasting reservations fill up quickly for busy days, especially Saturdays. We do not take reservations for self-guided tasting with flights – these are always first-come-first-serve. Scroll down for more information about these different types of tasting experiences!
Library Wine Tasting (NEW!)
Introducing our new Library Tastings; a revolving menu of four wines aged to expressive perfection in our on-site, temperature-controlled library.
Our library collection features more than 16,500 individual bottles (among 133 different wines).
And while members of our Octagon Cellar Club have exclusive access to all of them at any time, for non-club members, these tastings are your only opportunity to taste and purchase library wines.
These four wines can be experienced as a seated tasting or as a flight, and all four will be available for purchase in our retail shop. Tastings are $25 (and free to Octagon Cellar Club members). Reservations can be made by selecting the Tasting Library Wines option on our Make a Reservation page.
Octagon Cellar Club members, please call the winery at 607-582-6450 to reserve your Library tasting with your club member benefits.
What to expect during your guided wine tasting
Wagner Vineyards offers more than 30 wines, so you are sure to find something to suit your palate here! With so many options, you may want a little help from someone more familiar with our wines. A guided tasting with a member of our staff will give you the chance to learn about our wines as well as the vineyards, the winemaking process, and more. We focus on “Customer Choice” tastings where we work with you to select the wines you’ll most enjoy. We strongly recommend making advanced reservations for a Guided Tasting. Each guided tasting includes 1oz pour of 5 wines, a complimentary glass to take home, and a coupon for $4 off a purchase of $25 or more.
After your guided tasting, you are welcome to stick around and enjoy a self-guided tour of our production area or spend some time enjoying the views from The Vantage Point on our deck or at the picnic tables on the lawn. Wine and beer are available to enjoy on the deck or at the picnic tables by the glass, flight, or bottle and depending on the time of day and time of year, there are sharable appetizers that can be ordered to enjoy as well.
What to expect during your walk-in self-guided tasting (flights – wine or beer!)
If you are looking for a less formal tasting option with no reservations, flights are always available to enjoy at The Vantage Point on our deck (seasonally enclosed) or at the picnic tables on the lawn (weather permitted) on a first-come-first-served basis!
Wine flights and beer flights each come with four (4) 2oz pours per flight. There are pre-selected flight options available or choose your own flight. Wine flights range $9-$12 and include a coupon for $4 off a purchase of $25 or more. Beer flights start at $8. Visit the craft beer tasting page to learn more about the current beers on tap. Visitors are welcome to enjoy wine by the glass, flight, or bottle; or beer by the pint or flight.
Shareable appetizers are also available for purchase on the deck at the Vantage Point on a seasonal basis starting at noon. During the slower winter and early spring seasons, the deck menu is available weekends only (Fri & Sat: noon-4pm, Sun: noon-4pm). In the busy summer and fall seasons, the deck menu is available daily from noon-4pm.
We do not take reservations for the Vantage Point or outdoor seating and these seating options are only available on a first-come-first-served basis at this time.
